Yahoo Doesn't Respect Customers - Raises Online Music Prices

Yahoo recently announced that they will double the price of their online music service Yahoo Music Engine from $6.99 to $11.99 depending on the plan you choose. This is really lame in my book. I reviewed their Music Engine service a while back but didn’t think it was that great. But for the 5 bucks a month (at that time) I was considering it. I’m glad I decided to stick with Napster. Can you imagine signing up for your cell phone service and a year later they decide to double their rates? Yahoo just doesn’t get it’s customers – let alone smart ones. I bet they didn’t get a lot of people to sign up anyways because everyone was speculating that they were going to raise their prices. I think Yahoo is seriously struggling to find itself in this new Web 2.0 world. So it’s time to give Yahoo the old eighty six and go with a solid music service like Napster or iTunes – at least they pretend to like their customers.

I am a Yahoo customer and don't see it as disrespectful at all. The price was always stated to be a 12-month introductory price. Also, everyone who did the math knew that users who download music from Yahoo (as opposed to just streaming) would put the service under because the royalties would not be covered by the introductory price.
