Microsoft Xbox 360 Support Rocks
Well, it finally happened to me. After having my beloved Xbox 360 for a little more than a year, I got the dreaded Red Ring of Death. Fortunately Microsoft has extended the standard 90 day warranty to three years to deal with this issue. I sent my console out last week and got back a brand new unit. It was really easy to setup: you go online, fill out a form, and they send you a box via UPS. You ship it out (at their cost) and they send you back your fixed console in four to six weeks. I was pretty impressed with how quickly they sent me a new console. I also wasn't expecting a new console but I guess the Red Ring of Death issue is really causing them some pain. Warranty service in less than a week - that's pretty damn good! Now I know they didn't handle this issue in the best way in the beginning, trying to downplay the returned units and all, but I think now they have a solid policy and I am very happy with their service. So let's get back to some gaming!

Wow, three months to replace the DVD drive! I hope you don't get the red rings of death too.
